FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION'S

  • IS THIS RETREAT JUST FOR CRAFTERS?
YES! As much as we would like to accommodate every event we are strictly for crafters. Frankenmuth has many beautiful hotels and AirBNBs to book. *Although we love and appreciate all crafts we ask that you refrain from using crafts that use Epoxy glue, glitter, and spray paint as these are impossible to clean up and can cause damage if left on furniture or flooring.
  • WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY STAY?
All your bedding (including 2 pillows, sheets, a comforter), a set of towels (bath, hand, and face cloth) per person as well as extras if needed, a bench for your overnight bag, and your own bed fan and bed lamp. There are earplugs available as well. I have a variety of a Big Shot Sizzex Machine as well as a Revolution with over 150 die cuts to use. There are lots and lots of stamps, punches, a large paper cutter, a Tim Holtz stamp platform (large size), 2 irons, an ironing table, an expandable, high quilting/crafting table, two Design Walls for quilters, and extra tables for all your stuff. Each crafter has a Memory Foam chair cushion (if you wish to use it), a lamp, a trash basket, and an extension cord/power strip to use. Wireless Internet, Streaming Cable Television, 2 televisions, a BluRay player (which plays DVDs as well), and a cozy, electric fireplace in the living room are there for you to enjoy as well.
  • WHAT IS THE PAYMENT POLICY?
One payment of a non-refundable, non-transferrable deposit of $300 (50/person for the required 6 people) is due when you book your stay (this must be received within two weeks to hold your date). Your remaining balance for your group is due 30 days in advance of your stay and will be billed individually. If full payment or the remaining balance for your stay has not been received by the 30 days in advance of your stay your booking date will be forfeited and opened to others. You will be receiving invoices and payment reminders through your email.
  • WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
If you cancel 30 days OR MORE IN ADVANCE you will receive a refund minus the non-refundable, non-transferrable deposit of $50. You may also change your reservation to a future date within 12 months of original reserved date. You may change your booking one time from your original date. If you cancel WITHIN 30 days of your stay* you will NOT get a refund, however, you may change your reservation to a future date within 12 months of original reserved date. You may do this one time from your original date. *PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF YOUR BOOKING AS THIS DOES NOT GIVE US ENOUGH TIME TO FILL A VACANCY LEFT FROM YOUR CANCELLATION. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO FIND SOMEONE TO COVER YOUR SPOT AND RECEIVE PAYMENT FROM THEM. If you do not come for your reserved stay or do not contact me you will forfeit your money and booking. **Just Us Girls Crafting Retreat reserves the right to cancel a weekend if unforeseen circumstances due to no fault of our own (acts of nature) and no other arrangements can be made. You may then reschedule your stay or receive a full refund.**
  • WHAT TYPE OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
Credit card, PayPal, Venmo, check (made out to Just Us Girls Crafting Retreat), or cash. *NSF (Non sufficient Fund) checks or Cancelled checks will be charged $36.00 to cover the fee charged to us by our bank.
  • WHAT ARE THE CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT TIMES?

If you would like to stay an additional night for your weekday stay check in time is 6 p.m. Sunday night for an additional $30. You may notify me within a day of your stay for any additional nights.
  • ARE WE HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE?
Yes, the main floor is completely handicap accessible, including a ramp into the building, the crafting area, bathroom, kitchen, dining area, and living room. The bedrooms are located downstairs. We are providing and renting to you a place for people to craft. All necessary code regulations for this particular building have been met and approved by the required municipalities and will be to code. The sleeping accommodations are provided as a convenience for the crafters. Any person requiring barrier free sleeping or living arrangements should notify me prior to booking a stay as our facility only provides a barrier free workspace. I will be happy to provide names and phone numbers of local hotels which may provide barrier free living arrangements. This would be in addition to any costs for the craft workspace itself.
  • WHAT ARE THE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS?
We can accommodate groups of up to 8 people or possibly 2 separate groups depending on availability. There are 4 beds per bedroom (twin beds - no bunk beds). So if you have a group of 2-4 people please be aware that although you will have your own bedroom for your group you could possibly be sharing the main level which provides craft area, kitchen, living room, and dining area, with another group. If you want to ensure that you will be alone for your stay you must have at least 5 people in your group. *Weekends there is a minimum of 6 people.
  • IS IT AIR CONDITIONED?
    Yes!
  • IS SMOKING ALLOWED?
We are a smoke-free retreat; however, there is a designated smoking area outside the building.
  • CAN I BRING MY PET?
    We are a pet-free retreat.
  • IS THIS RETREAT JUST FOR WOMEN?
No! As long as you are here to craft anyone over 18 years of age may come and join us. The reason we are called Just Us Girls is because my husband and I have three daughters and they help me keep our retreat running smoothly, hence the name, Just Us Girls Crafting Retreat.
  • WHAT KITCHEN SUPPLIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR ME TO USE?
We have a stocked kitchen to accommodate all your needs in case you would like to prepare your own meals instead of eating out. Glasses, wine glasses, plates, mugs, bowls, silverware, tea kettle, food processor, pots and pans (a variety of sizes), mixing bowls, blender, crockpots (3 different sizes), toaster, instant pot, hand mixer, casserole dishes, baking/cooking utensils, cookie sheets, knife set, cutting board, strainer, ice cream scoop (very important!), measuring cups/spoons, cork screw opener, waffle maker, microwave dishes/bowls, a few popular spices, glass pitcher, paper products, and a few extra things as well. Most crafters set up a meal schedule with their group prior to arrival so that the meal duties are shared.
  • ARE THERE RESTAURANTS THAT WILL DELIVER?
Yes! You will be provided a list of surrounding restaurants.
  • IS THERE AN EATING AREA OUTSIDE?
Yes! There is a small table and chairs as well as benches to sit outside. No grill is provided.
  • WHERE DO I PARK?

  • CAN I USE ESSENTIAL OILS OR CANDLES DURING MY STAY?
Candles are not permitted. However, you may bring a diffuser and essential oils to use during your stay. Please keep in mind that if you are there with other groups it is important to be considerate of those around you. Some people have allergies to different scents and may not be able to breathe in certain odors. Always ask if you aren’t sure!
  • DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN TOILETRIES?
Yes. Because there are so many different needs and allergies we ask that you please bring your own shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, etc. We do provide towels, hand soap, and a hairdryer. As an added luxery, we do provide a towel warmer for you so you can enjoy a warm towel after your shower.
